D. W. Allen, 78 of 1025 Lilly Road died at 7:05 a.m. Friday in Home Hospital where he had been a patient one day. He had been ill the past two years. He was born May 12, 1913 in Veedersburg and came to Lafayette from Crawfordsville 45 years ago. He was a truck driver for National Homes for 27 years and retired in 1975. Mr. Allen was a member of Elston Presbyterian Church, Teamsters Local 543 and Moose Lodge 1529. He married Delsia Marie Hamilton in Crawfordsville on Aug 6, 1949. She died Nov 11, 1986. Surviving are two sons, Donald W. Allen of West Point and Dean W. Allen of Lafayette; a daughter, Denetta M. Allen of Lafayette; and three children by a previous marriage, Rev. Warren Allen of Muston, Ind; Robert Allen of Findlay, Ohio and Janet Allen of St. Louis, Mo. - kbz
